The Pilates Method, originally called “Contrology,” the coordination of body, mind and spirit, was created by Joseph Pilates in the beginning of the 20th century. Joe Pilates based his work on three principles: Breath, whole-body health and whole-body commitment; with the whole-body in compassing mind, body and spirit.
It is in the honouring of the Pilates Principles that the depth of the work is achieved. These Principles are traditionally cited as:
Pilates is a method of body conditioning of stretching, strengthening and controlled exercises.

Pilates Physical Therapy care
It assesses and treat the whole person – not just an injury or symptom – through Pilates exercises, helping you to identify and correct problematic postural and movement patterns that can cause you pain. You’ll learn and engage in new ways of moving, of listening to your body, and of taking care of yourself. As you learn to listen to your body more attentively, future injury can also be prevented.
Pilates for pregnancy
Pilates is one of the best exercises to do, both during and after pregnancy. Through Pilates, women can stay strong and fit throughout their pregnancies. Pilates can help women stay connected to their changing body, improve posture and reduce pregnancy aches and pains.
Active Energy Flow
Active Energy Flow combines physical exercises, Pilates, Yoga and Fitness based, with energy healing techniques ( Reiki, Polarity, Kundalini), creating a moving meditation that multiplies the benefits of body, mind and spirit work. The physical movements we use in Active Energy Flow are specifically chosen for their abilities to activate the chakras. Breath work, mantras, chakra balancing and Reiki healings are performed along with these exercises. Movements are enriched with mindfulness and focus. Muscles, emotions and inner understanding are activated, as overall health, balance, strength, and flexibility develops.

Develop by Japanese professor Mikao Usui at the beginning of the 20th century,
Reiki is an alternative therapy that can be done with hands-on or remotely. Reiki involves visualization techniques to connect to the energies within and around the body, commonly understood as chakra energy.
Derived from the Japanese words for spirit (rei) and energy (ki), Reiki is a non-invasive technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Dr. Usui used his Reiki techniques to heal people and taught students who would carry on the practice.
The practice has been embraced globally, well beyond its beginnings in Japan. Now, it’s practiced in more than 800 hospitals, and many RNs routinely combine Reiki into their nursing work. Healthcare professionals believe Reiki helps patients heal faster, with less pain. It helps patients keep a better mental attitude, and reduces the negative effects of medication and other medical procedures.
Through meditation, visualization techniques, and the power of human touch, Reiki accesses the body’s energies, and their relationship to the universal energy of life. While it involves a spiritual frame of mind, Reiki is not affiliated with any religion. Like the Pilates method, which was developed to move the physical body efficiently, Reiki focuses on moving the body’s energy in a healthy way.
